Blue Point Toasted Lager Style: Vienna Lager ABV: 4.8% Supposedly the flagship beer of Long Island based Blue Point Brewery. This one is pretty tasty: refreshing, malty but just the right amount of hop balance. Solid aroma, but just a bit weak on the nose, which is disappointing. This would be an easy drinking beer that I could see myself enjoying a lot. Nothing too bold, pretty standard. A solid session. Final Verdict: 7/10

21st Amendment Back In Black Style: American Black IPA ABV: 6.8% IBU: 65 A pop of this can punches you in the face with a fist full of hops. No doubt they did one hell of a dry-hop on this guy. At first I expected (despite the style) a pretty clean, fresh IPA, but was instead greeted with a nice toasty flavor. The malt profile in Back in Black is a solid compliment to the generous hops that have been added. Very approachable beer. Final Verdict: 8/10

Finally, a place for me to collect my thoughts

On beer that is! I’m a huge beer fan, and for some time have really been sad that I didn’t have an outlet to express my enjoyment of certain brews. Now I do. This should be fun.
